Minnesota Wild Foundation Distributed Over $733K During 2021-22 Season

Since 2009, the Wild Foundation has given more than $7.7 million to local organizations and charities.

ST. PAUL, MN —The Minnesota Wild announced Monday that the organization's Minnesota Wild Foundation distributed $733,470 in charitable grants to dozens of organizations during the 2021-22 season.

The money came from donations made by Wild fans, donors, corporate and community partners and from proceeds from the team's regular Split the Pot Raffle.

According to the foundation, the two biggest grants were the $52,500 to Minnesota Hockey to help support important grow-the-game initiatives throughout the state, including: Minnesota Equipment Grant Program, the Little Wild Learn to Play Program, the Family Mentor Program and the Never Too Late Hockey Camp.

Children's Minnesota Foundation also received $50,000 from proceeds of the Wild Foundation's annual Wild About Children event to support the Children's Minnesota Mental Health program.

Other organizations that received funding this past season, include: Children's Cancer Research Fund, DinoMights St. Paul, The Minnesota High School Boys Coaches Association and the Minnesota Girls Hockey Coaches Association, Minnesota Youth Hockey Associations, Autism Society of Minnesota and Ronald McDonald House Charities-Upper Midwest

Several in-season events helped raise money for related charities, including: Native American Heritage Day on Nov. 26, the Wild Foundation's Black History Celebration on Jan. 14, Military Appreciation Night on February 12 and Pride Night on March 29.

"We are extremely excited to be able to provide support to these wonderful community programs, charities and youth hockey associations," said Rachel Schuldt, executive director of the Minnesota Wild Foundation. "The Wild Foundation and its board of directors is incredibly thankful for the tremendous fan support that allows us to help our community and continue to grow the great sport of hockey."

According to its literature, the Minnesota Wild Foundation exists to support the game of hockey and improve the lives of families in Minnesota. Since its inception in 2009, the foundation has distributed more than $4.9 million in grants to hockey organizations and children's medical-related charities and has dispersed over $2.8 million to local charities through its Split the Pot Raffle program, according to the foundation.
