MINNESOTA — Michele Tafoya, who has been the sideline reporter for NBC's "Sunday Night Football" for more than a decade, is stepping down from that role to jump into Minnesota politics.

Sunday's Super Bowl was her final assignment for NBC.

Tafoya will now serve as co-campaign chair for Kendall Qualls, a Republican candidate for Minnesota governor, the Star Tribune reported. Qualls is among the large field of Republicans hoping to unseat Gov. Tim Walz this fall.
