Thief Steals Bag Of Dirty Gym Clothes

A roundup of burglaries, robberies, thefts, and other property crimes in Southwest Minneapolis in the last week.

July 30

Officers were dispatched to an address on West 56th Street on a report of a car damaged by another car. A 24-year old Windom resident was cited for careless driving.

A resident of the 3300 block of Pillsbury Avenue South called police to report a suspicious person in their alley combing through neighbors’ recycling bins. Officers found a person matching the caller’s description, who was carrying a grocery bag full of crushed metal cans in the alley behind the 3200 block of Blaisdell Avenue South. The individual was cited for unauthorized removal of recyclable materials.

Between midnight and 7 a.m., a car was broken into on the 700 block of 37th Street West.

A caller reported their garage on the 5000 block of Oliver Avenue South had been broken into between 10 p.m. on July 28 and 8 a.m. on July 29.

A resident of the 4400 block of Nicollet reported a bicycle stolen from a storage unit in her apartment building.

Thieves broke into a car on the 3200 block of Dupont, stealing a wallet, iPod shuffle, and a bag of gym clothes.

 

July 29

An unknown suspect stole the nuts connecting a left rear tire to a car parked on the 6100 block of Nicollet Avenue South.

A car parked in front of a house on the 4800 block of Lake Harriet Parkway was broken into overnight.

A locked bicycle was stolen overnight from a house on the 4800 block of Pleasant Avenue South.

 

July 28

A scooter parked on the 4300 block of 1st Avenue South was stolen overnight.

 

July 27

A car parked on the 5500 block of Shoreview Drive was broken into early in the morning.

A resident of the 5200 block of Knox Avenue South discovered someone had unsuccessfully tried to pry open the door to their garage over the last few nights.

A residence on the 5600 block of Pillsbury Avenue South was burglarized while the victim was at work.

An unknown suspect walked into an unlocked garage on the 4900 block of 1st Avenue South and stole several bicycles between July 25 and July 27.

A garage on the 5300 block of Knox Avenue South was burglarized via an unlocked side door.
