Twin Cities Halloween Weather: What Trick-Or-Treaters Can Expect

What's lurking in this year's Twin Cities Halloween forecast? Here's what we know.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Costumes with coats might be the smart choice this year. The National Weather Service says Halloween night in the Twin Cities will be chilly but likely dry, with temperatures dropping into the upper 30s by trick-or-treat time.

After a sunny start to the week, rain moves in Tuesday before drier and cooler weather settles in for the holiday. By Friday, Halloween, skies are expected to be partly sunny with afternoon highs near 49 degrees. It’ll turn crisp after sunset, with lows near 35.

The weekend looks seasonably cool, with highs around 48–50 degrees and a slight chance of light rain Saturday night or Sunday.

According to the NOAA Weather Prediction Center, much of the Upper Midwest will see morning lows in the 30s on Halloween Day, with colder readings across northern Minnesota and the Dakotas.

Tuesday Night: Rain likely, mainly before 10pm. Cloudy, with a low around 42. North northeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday: A 10 percent chance of rain before 7am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. North northeast wind around 10 mph.
