'Widespread Snow' Expected In Twin Cities Friday: MN Weather

TWIN CITIES, MN — Residents should expect "widespread snow" across the Twin Cities metro area and beyond on Friday, according to the National Weather Service.

It's too early to know how much yet, but shovels will be needed.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly before 2pm. Cloudy, with a high near 11. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Wednesday Night: Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around -10. Wind chill values as low as -24. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 8. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 2. South wind 5 to 10 mph.

Friday: Snow, mainly after noon. High near 25. South southeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Friday Night: Snow likely, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 9. East southeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 16. North wind around 15 mph.
