43 Stillwater Runners Finish Twin Cities Marathon

Among the 8,849 runners who finished the 26.2-mile 2013 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon Sunday, Oct. 6 were 43 from Stillwater.

Fastest Stillwater Finishers
Stillwater resident Brett Parendo, 20, finished with a time of 2:46:50. He placed 119th out of 8,849 runners, 100th out of 4,919 male runners, and second in his age group of males.

Andrea Hicks of Stillwater, 32, finished with a time of 3:25:38. She placed 942nd out of 8,849 runners, 187th out of 3,928 female runners, and 40th in her age group of women.

Oldest Stillwater Finishers
David Majeski, 66, was the oldest Hudson resident to finish the marathon. His time or 4:12:16 was 16th in his age group of 61 women. 

The oldest women from Stillwater who finished the marathon was Jodi Weyrachu, 52; Wendy Heck, 51; and Linda Wikoff, 50. They finished 35th, 102nd and 82nd (respectively) out of 199 women in their age group. 

Overall Leaders
Arizona resident Nick Arciniaga won the 2013 Twin Cities Marathon men’s race with a time of 2:13:11, according to a StarTribune.com report. Former Minnesota resident Annie Bersagel won the woman’s title with a time of 2:30:52.

The race began near the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis and finished at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul.
