A state filing reveals The Vollrath Company, LLC, plans to shutter its Newport facility.
ST. PAUL, MN — The Vollrath Company, LLC, will permanently close its Newport facility in early 2026, resulting in the layoff of about 39 employees, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter submitted to the state.
Vollrath, a Wisconsin-based maker of commercial foodservice equipment and custom metal-fabricated components, operates the facility at 910 Hastings Avenue in Newport. The site is scheduled to shut down on March 27, 2026.
Layoffs will occur in phases between Feb. 6 and March 27, the notice said. Employees at the facility are not represented by a union and do not have bumping rights.
