What Will 'ObamaCare' Mean for Minnesotans?

River Valley Action will host a forum on our nation’s health care reform and how it will affect Minnesotans on Monday, Feb. 25, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Peter O’Neill Hall at Guardian Angels Church in Oakdale.

Guardian Angels Church is located at 8260 4th Street North, Oakdale, MN 55128 (I-94 and Radio Drive).

Carole Backstrom, State Medicaid Director, along with Trudy Ohnsorg, Special Projects Manager, both with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, will cover the Health Care Exchanges and how they will function in our state as well as the role of Navigators.

Christina Wessel, Deputy Director of the Minnesota Budget Project, will provide additional information and cover opportunities for advocacy with the department and the legislature. Those in attendance will be encouraged to have their questions answered during a panel discussion moderated by Julie Bunn, former State Representative and health care policy analyst.

River Valley Action will provide a list of opportunities to influence the decisions to be considered by the state legislature in March.
