Update: Winter Weather Continues to Impact Stillwater's Spring Sports

Due to weather, the St. Croix Valley Athletic Association is once again forced to make changes to start dates for baseball, t-ball and softball.

The baseball and t-ball Coaches pickup night has been moved to Monday April 22, (Subject to weather). Time and Location remains the same.

Softball pickup is now scheduled for Sat. April  20 from noon to 2 p.m. at LWB Equipment Shed.(Subject to weather).

The first week of practice is still set to start April 29. The date may very well change, but youth sports officials will wait another week to see what the weather does.

Parents should not expect to hear from a coach until after roster distribution now scheduled for April 22.

Weather is wreaking havoc on spring sports in the Stillwater area.

Stillwater Area High School's baseball, softball and lacrosse games, tennis and golf matches, along with track and field meets, have been postoned for the rest of the week.

"Due to current weather conditions, many competitions have been canceled," a notice on the high school website reads. Coaches are announcing practice times and locations to athletes.

The St. Croix Valley Athletic Association’s baseball, softball and t-ball season start dates have also been changed due to weather.

Youth Baseball: Coaches Information and Equipment Pick-up is 5:30-7:30 p.m., on Monday, April 15 at the Lucy Winton Bell Athletic Complex Equipment Building (located on Frontage Road, south of I-94 between Stagecoach Trail and County Road 18. Only one coach from each team must attend. Coordinators will contact Head Coaches before the meeting. 

T-Ball and Youth Softball: Coaches Information and Equipment Pick-up is 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16 at Lucy Winton Bell Athletic Complex Equipment Building. Only one coach from each team must attend. Coordinators will contact Head Coaches before the meeting.

Depending on the weather, practices may begin the week of April 22, coaches will contact the players. Regular season games are expected to begin the week of May 6.
