Stillwater Couple Arrested on Suspicion of Felony Assault of a Baby

Two Stillwater residents were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of felony assault of an 8-month old baby. The case remains under investigation.

Two Stillwater residents were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of felony assault of an 8-month old baby.

Stillwater Police Sgt. Jeff Stender confirmed the arrests on suspicion of first-degree assault for injuries sustained to the baby, but would not elaborate on the case as it remains an active investigation.

A 37-year-old Stillwater man was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault. He is also being held at the Washington County Jail on an immigration charge being handled by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, according to jail records.

A 27-year-old Stillwater woman was also arrested for suspicion of felony assault.

According to jail records, the man was arrested at Children’s Hospital in St. Paul. The woman was arrested in Oak Park Heights.

The couple reportedly live in the 300 block of St. Croix Avenue West.
