The Edge Figure Skating Club to Perform 'The Dazzling Decades' this Weekend
"It you've never been to a figure skating show, this is something to see," Skating Director Jackie Loughery said. "It's different than any other show I've been a part of. It really is a spectacle." Performances will be Friday, April 26 and Saturday.

The Edge Figure Skating Club’s talents will be on display this weekend during the annual spring show at the St. Croix Valley Recreation Center.
"The Dazzling Decades" performances will be at 7 p.m. Friday, April 26, and 5 p.m. Saturday, April 27.
The shows will feature 60 skaters—ranging in age from 2-17 years old—from the Learning to Skate program to the Edge Skating club that was formed in September by professional figure skaters Brittany Drury and Igor Korobko.

The skaters are from all over the area, including some from Wisconsin and many from Stillwater, Skating Director Jackie Loughery said. Each show is about an hour long.
The skaters have been working on “The Dazzling Decades” show for a couple of months, Loughery said. The skaters who perform in groups have been practicing for about a month, while the featured soloists have been perfecting their routines for about two months.

The show will highlight musical numbers from 1910 through 2000, Loughery said. The show will combine skating, music, lights and full costume.
“We also paint the ice for the performances,” Loughery said. “I’ve never seen a show that does that.”
As a coach, Loughery said it’s fun to see the skaters work hard on the show, improve year to year, and have the opportunity to get to know—and develop friendships—with skaters from other classes.
This is the 13th annual show. Tickets cost $8 for adults, and $6 for students and seniors.
