Visitors Bureau, Downtown IBA Team Up for 'Stillwater Girlfriend Getaway Weekend'
The Stillwater/Oak Park Heights Visitors Bureau and the Stillwater Independent Business Association are co-sponsoring "Girlfriend Getaway Weened in downtown April 26-28.
The Stillwater Visitors Bureau announces a new event called "Stillwater Girlfriend Getaway Weekend" that is set for April 26-28 in downtown Stillwater.
Here’s how the Stillwater CVB describes the event:
This weekend of activities, classes, dancing and prize drawings kicks off on Friday, April 26 with a wine and cheese reception at the Water Street Inn from 5-7 p.m. During this reception, participants will pick up their free Stillwater Passport outlining all activities taking place over the weekend.

A total of 43 historic Main Street area shops, restaurants and lodging are participating and offering specials.
Most of the activities, classes, and demos are free. A few will involve a pre-registration and cost due to limited space available.

Events Include:
- An early morning free yoga class with breakfast;
- A silk scarf making class:
- Wine tastings;
- Cave tours;
- Stillwater Trolley Tours;
- Learning about Spices;
- Foodies on Foot brunches and dinners;
- Hair and lash demos;
- Art exhibits;
- A garden party;
- Biercycle Historic tours;
- A SpringStyle and Trunk show; andÂ
- Several Main Street businesses offering shopping specials and deals.
On Saturday night, on-air radio personality, DEZ, from KS95 will draw for prizes at the Dance Party at the Historic Freight House from 7-9 p.m. with dancing starting at 9 p.m.
For those over-nighting, most of Stillwater's lodging properties are offering a 15 percent off for a one-night stay and a 25 percent off for a two-night stay for this weekend.
Participants only need call their lodging choice and ask for the Girlfriend Getaway Weekend Special.
