ST. LOUIS PARK, MN — Beltline Boulevard in St. Louis Park closed on Monday and won't open up again until May 27.

The closures are related to the construction of the Beltline light-rail station, which is a part of the Southwest light-rail project. Several different agencies and developers will be in the area to work on the station, city officials said.

Beltline Boulevard closure May 2 – 14

City Description:

The redevelopments at 3440 and 3510 Beltline Boulevard require road closure to upgrade the utility connections for their buildings. This closure is on Beltline Boulevard between Park Glen Road and the access to Melrose Center/Wolfe Lake Professional Center. These two developments are working together to minimize the duration of the closure.

Beltline Boulevard closure May 16 – 27

City description:

Metro Transit, as part of the METRO Green Line Extension, will be closing Beltline Boulevard between County Road 25 and Park Glen Road to install the new light rail tracks across the road. This work is scheduled to be completed just before Memorial Day.

Beltline Boulevard used as a detour route

City description:

Beltline Boulevard will reopen to traffic after May 27 and will be the posted detour route for the construction on 36th Street west of Highway 100.

Lane shifts and closures

City description:

Ongoing lane shifts and lane closures on County Road 25 between Beltline Boulevard and Lynn Avenue may be required to complete numerous improvements related to the METRO Green Line Extension. This construction is not expected to close County Road 25; however, please anticipate additional congestion due to lane shifts and construction activity.

Utility relocations

City description:

The Beltline Station Development will begin utility relocations in June. This work will impact the area in the southeast corner of County Road 25 and Beltline Boulevard. Most of the work will occur within the parcel of land; however, there is some work that will require digging within Beltline Boulevard and the South Frontage Road of Country Road 25. The South Frontage Road between Beltline Boulevard and Lynn Avenue will be permanently removed as part of the site redevelopment.
