BSM's Grant Besse Named Mr. Hockey Minnesota 2013
The senior is the recipient of the 29th Mr. Hockey Award, presented annually to Minnesota's most outstanding boys high school hockey player.

Benilde-St. Margaret's senior Grant Besse may not have had a chance to skate in this year's state tournament, but he was still grinning by the end of the recent hockey-packed weekend.
Besse, who is headed to the University of Wisconsin in the fall to play for the Badgers, was all smiles after being named Mr. Hockey Minnesota 2013 on Sunday, Mar. 10, by the Minnesota Minute Men.
Besse is the 29th recipient of the annual award, given to Minnesota's most outstanding senior boys high school hockey player at the conclusion of the state tournament weekend. St. Thomas Academy's David Zevnik joined Besse in recognition Sunday, receiving the Frank Brimsek Award for being Minnesota's top senior goaltender.

Besse's contributions to the Red Knights were undeniable, as the senior delivered a monumental 48 goals—including six hat tricks—and 28 assists in his last season with BSM. He also scored all five goals in last year's state title game to help BSM take home the championship. He finished his tenure at BSM with 163 career goals and 272 points.
"Grant gets it on a number of different levels," Red Knights coach Ken Pauly told the Pioneer Press. "He is a throwback. He is what high school hockey should be all about, what it could be about. If more people embraced that philosophy, these kids would stick around. His character and commitment are off the charts."
