Beth El Remembers Congregant Killed in Minneapolis Shooting

St. Louis Park's Beth El Synagogue is mourning the loss of one of its members after Thursday's shooting at a Minneapolis workplace.

Reuven Rahamim, 61, the founder of Accent Signage Systems, was described as a "beloved husband, father, grandfather" and member of the "congregational family." Rahamim lived in St. Louis Park and served on Beth El's board of directors.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with the Rahamim family and the families of all of those killed and injured," said Beth El Rabbi Alexander Davis in an email. "We pray they know comfort and healing in the days ahead."

Davis added that Rahamim was "a wonderful husband, father, grandfather. He was not just an active member here but a good friend to many. He was generous and kind-hearted and will be sorely missed."

Beth El posted the following statement on its website Friday:

Our Beth El community is shocked and devastated by the tragic death of Reuven Rahamim Z"L, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and member of our congregational family.

Our hearts go out to all of the victims of yesterday's shooting in the Bryn Mawr neighborhood and we pray for those injured in this senseless act. At this time of sorrow, we look for strength in our faith and community.

We pray at this time for a Sabbath of peace and comfort.

Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
