Boy, 15, Dies In Jet Ski Crash On Lake Minnetonka

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the boy killed in Wednesday's crash.

LAKE MINNETONKA, MN — A 15-year-old boy died Wednesday evening in a jet ski crash on Lake Minnetonka. Two jet skis collided just before 6 p.m. at the East Upper Lake, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the boy as Michael P. McNulty, of Chanhassen.

After the crash, boaters pulled McNulty out of the water and started CPR. Deputies arrived and took over the life-saving measures.

McNulty was then transported to Water Patrol Headquarters in Spring Park, where there was an ambulance was waiting. However, "medics' attempts to save the victim's life were unsuccessful," the sheriff's office said in a news release.

McNulty died from "multiple blunt force injuries sustained," the medical examiner ruled.
