City Seeks Volunteer Commission Members

A number of St. Louis Park commissions have openings.

The City of St. Louis Park is currently seeking residents to serve on the following city commissions, which provide input to the City Council on various policy matters:

  • Human Rights Commission advises the City Council on issues related to discrimination and equal opportunity.
  • Park & Recreation Advisory Commission considers matters pertaining to long-range park and recreation plans. 
  • Police Advisory Commission works to enhance awareness of police department services and provide opportunities for citizen involvement.
  • Telecommunication Advisory Commission works on issues related to the cable TV franchises and other telecommunications issues.
  • Charter Commission evaluates and proposes changes to the City Home Rule Charter as provided by State Statute.  Also monitors legislative activities.  Commissioners are appointed by the Chief Judge of Hennepin County District Court.
  • Youth Commissioners serve a one year term and are needed on the Human Rights Commission, Planning Commission, and Telecommunications Advisory Commission.
