Slower speed limits promote a mobility system that prioritizes walking first, then bicycling and transit, and then motor vehicle use. Lower traffic speeds reduce the likelihood of a crash and make all types of crashes less likely to lead to death or a life-changing injury.
Implementation of new speed limits will take place in the coming months. Sign up for email and text updates, as well as learn more about speed limits and traffic safety, on the speed limits page.
