Delaying the Disease
Minnesota has the third highest incidence of Parkinson's in the country. Find out how to delay or reverse symptoms! Exercise is crucial!
Did you know that Minnesota has the THIRD highest incidence of Parkinson's in the country? I am the ONLY Certifed Delay the Disease Personal Trainer in Minnesota. Delay the Disease is an evidence-based exercise program for Parkinson's Disease. I traveled to Ohio 2 1/2 years ago to get certified, and since then, over 80% of my clients have delayed or even reversed their symptoms.
I founded Live2Thrive to cater to those with Parkinson's Disease, MS, other neurological issues, or just plain aging issues. Exercise is always the first line of defense in staying independent as we age, and I understand working with this population.
"I am a 75 year old man with Parkinson's Disease. Heidi has been working with me for over a year. She has been very considerate of my physical limitations while pushing me to improve my physical condition. She has significant knowledge of exercise to increase the flexiblity and strength for people with Parkinson's. I find that not only have my symptoms not gotten worse in the time we have been working together, but they have actually lessened during that time. I have virtually none of what I call "bad" days, and my movements are more free than they were previously" (Bob, Minnetonka).

The Delay the Disease formula for success works! The focus is on CARDIO-BRAIN-CORE and I design your exercise program specifically for your symptoms and any limitations. I know each person with Parkinson's presents differently and understand the medications and other issues that occur with PD.
"Simply put, Delay the Disease is ahead of the curve. As a result, the world is becoming aware of the powerful benefits of exercise in people with PD" (David A. Hinkle, MD, PhD, PWP, OhioHealth Movement Disorders Program Leader).
