(UPDATED) Free Beer for Military Members at Granite City

Complimentary suds are being served on the Fourth of July.

UPDATE (July 5, 9:23 a.m.) — Granite City founder Steve Wagenheim said 95 people enjoyed free beer on the Fourth.

Wagenheim said staff members went up and thanked military members when they received their suds.

"It was nice," he said. "I think a lot of people appreciated it."

July 4 — A St. Louis Park restaurant is looking to give back this Fourth of July with free beer for members of the military.

will be serving up the complimentary suds all day to anyone with a valid military ID. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to midnight.

St. Louis Park-based Granite City, which has 26 locations across the Midwest, brews and serves their own beer. They feature six different brews—the Northern Light Lager, the Broad Axe Stout, Brother Benedict’s Bock, the Two Pull, the Duke of Wellington India Pale Ale and Wag’s Wheat.
