Great Time to Thank, Remember a Vet

Osama bin Laden's death is a reminder of the sacrifice of so many Americans who died fighting for peace.

With the death of Osama bin Laden dominating headlines Sunday night, there might be no more appropriate time than now to thank any veterans in your life—and to remember those who sacrificed their lives for this country.

Bin Laden's death clearly illustrates the danger that American military personnel routinely face, as U.S forces reportedly stormed a Pakistani mansion and killed the terrorist leader, fending off gunfire during the mission.

So, take a moment to remember Chief Warrant Officer Jonah McClellan and Staff Sergeant David Day—two men from St. Louis Park who died during military service since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. McClellan was killed in Zabul province, Afghanistan, on Sept. 21, 2010. Day lost his life in Baghdad on Feb. 21, 2005.
