HENNEPIN COUNTY, MN — Strong storms, hail and even a tornado or two are possible in Hennepin County between 3 and 9 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.In a hazardous weather statement, the NWS said severe conditions could develop after a cold front moves through the Twin Cities metro area Wednesday afternoon. Behind the front, wind gusts as high as 50 mph are possible.The NWS has issued a wind advisory and tornado watch for nearby areas including Washington and Dakota Counties. No such advisories had been issued for Hennepin County as of 3:40 p.m.High winds are still possible in the area, according to the NWS. During the storm, strong winds could blow away unsecured objects or take down tree limbs.
