Hears to U Latest COVID-19 Protocol Winter 2021-2022
This is our latest blog to update you our patient on the latest protection we are enforcing to keep you safe at Hears to U, Audiology.

Masks 5,0
Yes, here we are again. At least I am using numbers (2.0,3.0, etc), instead of making you learn the Greek alphabet (thought I could do that too, if anyone is interested). 🙂
As of November 24, 2021, a new variant was reported to the World Health Organization (WHO). On November 26, the WHO named it Omicron and called it a Variant of Concern. The US followed on November 30 and the first case was discovered in the US on December 1, 2021.
All of this has happened so quickly, and I, like you, have questions. Unfortunately, we will just have to be patient. At this point, it is simply too soon to know how this variant will affect us; how easily does it spread and how virulent is it. The WHO and the CDC believe that Omicron is more transmissible than the original Covid strain. More study is required before they can say if it is more transmissible than the Delta variant. As of Dec 6, Omicron has been detected in 15 states, including an early case here in Minnesota.
No one can say yet if this variant is more virulent. Scientists all over the world are working to answer these questions. In the meantime, the best way to protect ourselves is to get vaccinated if you have not already. Get your booster. If it helps, don’t think of it as a booster; think of it as a 3-shot regimen. Stay socially distant. Wear a mask; regardless of your vaccination status. Wash your hands and carry hand sanitizer.
Stay home if you are sick. Have a Covid test done if you have any questions or concerns. Home tests are available.
At Hears to U, we are requiring masks if you are inside. We will try to do more curbside appointments. Talk to us about tele-audiology appointments for some of your questions.
Take a look at our website for videos on how to do some of the simple maintenance tasks for your hearing aids. Hearing health is a vital part of your overall health, but we all want to stay safe as well. We are here to help you gain and maintain your highest level of hearing health.
Happy Hearing!!
