1 Arrested After Hours-Long Standoff In St. Louis Park
One person was arrested at 4 p.m. after an hours-long standoff at an apartment building in St. Louis Park that began with a fire.

ST. LOUIS PARK, MN — Police say one person was arrested at 4 p.m. after an hours-long standoff at an apartment building in St. Louis Park that began with a fire.
On Tuesday at 8:50 a.m., St. Louis Park police and fire crews responded to a water flow alarm at the building. A fire in the first-floor trash room was quickly extinguished, but officers also noticed smoke present on the third floor.
Officers then began negotiating with the suspect who they believe started the fire, a spokeswoman for the city told Patch. Nearby apartment units were evacuated.

The suspect was eventually taken into custody peacefully and transported to an area hospital for evaluation, authorities said.
There were no injuries to the suspect, police, or fire department personnel, according to officials.
