ST. LOUIS PARK, MN — A snowstorm is set to hit Minnesota Friday. Though the Twin Cities won't see the biggest snowfall amounts, the snow will likely disrupt the Friday morning and evening commutes.

The snow will begin to fall after 8 a.m. St. Louis Park could see up to 4 inches of new snow by Friday night, according to the latest National Weather Service forecast.

Temperatures will drop quickly throughout the Twin Cities, falling to 1 degree above zero.

Southwestern Minnesota will see much more snow than the metro. Up to 11 inches of snow could fall in Redwood Falls, for example.

Friday: Snow, mainly after 8am. Temperature falling to around 15 by 10am. East wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Friday Night: Snow likely, mainly before 10pm. Cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 1. East northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 15. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the morning.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 3. South wind 5 to 10 mph.
