Minnesota Connections Academy Recognizes St. Louis Park Student

ST. PAUL, MN – Leos Meachum of St. Louis Park was recently named one of Minnesota Connections Academy’s (MNCA) Students of the Month in recognition of his achievements and leadership in the virtual classroom.

Leos, a second grader at the statewide, public online school, was nominated by his teacher, Mrs. Werner because of her hard work and the positive attitude he brings to class every day. As a Student of the Month, Leos will receive a certificate of achievement and be profiled in the Minnesota Connections Academy student newsletter and the school’s social media platforms.

“Our students of the month demonstrate leadership and an extraordinary commitment to learning while serving as strong role models for their peers,” said Brad Swanson, School Leader at Minnesota Connections Academy. “The members of our faculty and staff are proud to give these virtual classroom leaders the recognition they deserve.”

Leos has been attending Minnesota Connections Academy for two years and according to his father, Grant, they believe MNCA offers the ability for Leos to work at a more accelerated pace than a traditional school. Getting started in the virtual classroom was easy for Leos because his sister had already been attending Minnesota Connections Academy.

“We appreciate how the curriculum can be tailored to each individual student which enables them to manage their own schedule,” Grant said. “Leos likes to start work on his assignments the first thing in the morning.”
