St. Louis Park To Host Free Catalytic Converter Marking Event

ST. LOUIS PARK, MN — The city of St. Louis Park is aiming to combat the rise in catalytic converter thefts by hosting a marking event on April 28 from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m.

A marked converter deters thieves and helps police identify a converter if it is stolen.

Each car will be put on a lift so the converter can be etched and spray-painted by a mechanic. Participants will also receive a window sticker warning potential thieves that the car has a marked catalytic converter.

The event will take place at the St. Louis Park Municipal Service Center at 7305 Oxford Street. There is no charge for St. Louis Park residents, but registration is required.

There is a limit of two cars per household.
