6 St. Michael Schools On COVID-19 Outbreak List: MDH

This week's list included 36 Wright County schools, three more than last week.

ST. MICHAEL, MN β€” Six St. Michael schools were included Thursday on the Minnesota Department of Health’s list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks.

Three elementary schools β€” Big Woods, Fieldstone and St. Michael β€” have been on the list for several weeks alongside St. Michael-Albertville Middle School East, St. Michael-Albertville Senior High and St. Michael Catholic School.

Two STMA schools outside St. Michael were also included on Thursday’s list: St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West and Albertville Primary.

The COVID-19 data dashboard for the St. Michael-Albertville School District shows there have been 531 total coronavirus cases among the district's 6,850 students since Sept. 7, including 284 since Nov. 5.

The district has also reported 83 total coronavirus cases since Sept. 7 among 873 staff members, according to the district's dashboard.

The Minnesota Department of Health's most recent list of facilities with coronavirus outbreaks included 36 Wright County schools, three more than the previous week. More than 1,000 schools statewide were named on Thursday’s list.

A school is considered to have an outbreak when it reports five or more confirmed cases of the virus in students or staff who were in the building while infectious during the most recent two-week reporting period.

Schools on the list may not have ongoing transmission, according to MDH officials. Schools are removed from the list after 28 days without any new cases.
