Accidents, Arrests on a Busy Graduation Weekend

St. Michael Fire and Wright County Deputies were busy last weekend, which featured graduation celebrations here and in neighboring communities.

Graduation weekend came and went without any major mishaps, but that didn't mean first-responders in the area were left twiddling their thumbs.

There were, somewhat surprisingly, no underage consumption arrests issued for underage consumption last week, despite a slew of graduation open houses and, of course, commencement last Friday night.

Chalk one up for organized post-graduation parties. Sheriff Joe Hagerty, in fact, was on hand Friday, June 3, to assist with STMA High School's party, which was held at River City Extreme in Monticello.

"These are really great," he said Friday. "The parents just do a fantastic job of keeping the kids entertained the entire night."

St. Michael and Albertville were pretty quiet, with just one arrest. In nearby Monticello, there were 10 arrests. Otsego had six reported arrests.
