Albertville Villains Still Alive in Class C Playoffs
Albertville fought off Rockford to advance in the Region 12C playoffs.

It was the sixth meeting between Albertville and Rockford this season, and no doubt the most entertaining game either team will have played in a long time.
The Villains upended Rockford 4-3 in extra innings to advance to the 12C semifinal and a possible birth in the State Class C Tournament when they take on Dassel-Cokato Friday night at Klaers Field in Loretto.
The Rockford game Sunday capped a long week for the Villains that started last Wednesday.

Albertville squared off with Dassel-Cokato Wednesday night and pulled out a dramatic, 2-1 win in the opening round of the Region 12C playoff.
That set up a showdown with Loretto on their home field, and the Villains dropped their first playoff game of the summer by a count of 11-7 Saturday afternoon.

That sent the Villains into the loser-out bracket, and a dramatic game against Rockford.
With that 4-3 win, the Villains take on DC one more time, with a state tourney berth just down the road.
That game is at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Klaers Field.
