AUDIO: High Speed Chase Begins in St. Michael, Ends in Escape
A man suspected of being involved in a "physical" domestic incident fled police, and somehow got away.

Any good officer will tell you: They don't always get their man.
At least, not right away.
Yesterday was a prime example, as a suspect led Wright County Sheriff's Department personnel, Minnesota Highway Patrol officers and police from Maple Grove and Plymouth on a high speed chase around 4 p.m.

The suspect was pulled over in downtown St. Michael, but fled the scene (the chase begins around the 1 minute, 30 second mark in the clip). He flies down Highway 241, past the "" at Larabee hitting speeds of more than 80 mph, then heads eastbound on to Interstate 94.

On the freeway, the driver darts through rush-hour traffic eastbound hitting speeds of more than 100 mph, which increases his charges in the eyes of the law.
Amazingly, he avoids a road block set up near Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove, as Maple Grove police are unable to throw out "stop sticks," or a long stick with spikes aimed at deflating the vehicle's tires.
The driver makes his way down to the Interstate 494 split, and chooses to head south on the two-lane highway, into Plymouth.
With the initial Wright County squad care falling back in pursuit, the driver leaves the freeway at Rockford Road in Plymouth. He pulls a U-turn shortly after heading west, and makes his way back east.
It's then that the lead car calls off the chase, just as the Minnesota Highway Patrol was getting set to launch its helicopter as part of the pursuit.
