Despite Albertville Celebration, A Slow Week For Fire, Crime

Fire calls, crime are down despite people flocking to the community festival.

The use of Sheriff's Office Reservists at Central Park and on the closed segment of Main Avenue has dropped incidents sharply during Friendly City Days.

Calls to Albertville were kept to a minimum, and only a handful of arrests for DWI were handed out in the area during the weekend.

"I think the Reservists do an incredible job during these festivals, all over the county," said Capt. Dan Anselment as he made his report lately to the City of St. Michael. "They deserve a lot of credit."
