UPDATE: Two Car Accident at Major St. Michael-Albertville Intersection Snarls Traffic Friday Afternoon
Drivers heading home or heading out for the weekend were delayed when a crash sent at least one man to the hospital with injuries.
Updated at 3 p.m., Monday, June 13 with report information from Wright County Sheriff's Department.
Albertville Fire and Wright County deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash with injury around 4 p.m. Friday afternoon.Â
According to one witness, a vehicle heading southbound on Country Road 19 at the intersection with County Road 18 – the intersection that joins the two communities – turned into oncoming traffic.Â

"I didn't see which [vehicle] it was, but I turned on the green light because I had an opening," Tyler W. (last name withheld) of St. Michael said. "He didn't have one."Â

Vehicle 1 and driver: Devon Michael Bishop-Martinez. age 17 from St.Michael  (408-ECM) 1998 Jeep
 Vehicle 2 and driver/passenger: Driver: Melvin John Armbruster, age 42 from Maple Lake Vehicle (305-ANC) 2000 Lumina
Passenger:Â Andrew Paul Armbruster, age 34 from BuffaloÂ
REPORT: Bishop-Martinez was traveling southbound on County road #19 and was attempting to make a left turn to go Eastbound on 50th Street Ne. He failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a northbound vehicle that was driven by Armbruster. Both Armbrusters (brothers) were extricated from the 2000 Chevrolet Lumina and transported to Mercy Hospital with serious injuries. Bishop Martinez suffered minor injuries. All of the parties were wearing seatbelts and the airbags on both vehicle deployed.Â
The Lumina appeared to have bounced off the Jeep and crashed, head-first, into the northeast corner of the traffic signal at the intersection.Â
Deputies were controlling traffic at County 18 and County 19 (also known as 50th Street and LaBeaux Avenues in Albertville). Another deputy was re-routing westbound traffic at 50th Street and Main Avenue in Albertville, east of St. Michael-Albertville Middle School West.Â
