Trucker Killed Tuesday In Crash On I-94 In St. Michael: Police

The driver was not wearing a seat belt when he rear-ended an SUV and struck a barrier, causing the truck to roll on its side, police said.

WRIGHT COUNTY, MN — A 62-year-old Maple Grove man was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon on I-94 in St. Michael, according to police.

The Minnesota State Patrol said Dean Patrick Johnson died Tuesday when his semi-truck rear-ended an SUV and struck a barrier before rolling onto its side. Johnson was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

The driver of the SUV, a 37-year-old North Dakota woman, was not injured in the crash, police said.

The crash occurred around 12:50 p.m. Tuesday on westbound I-94 near the off ramp to Highway 241, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.
