Former Albertville Mayor Ron Klecker Dies
Klecker, who was mayor of Albertville from 2006 to 2010, died Friday. He was 89.
ALBERTVILLE, MN — Former Albertville Mayor Ron Klecker died Friday at the age of 89, as first reported by North Wright County Today.
Klecker was mayor of Albertville from 2006 to 2010. He moved from North Dakota to Minnesota in 1998 to be closer to his children, his obituary reads.
He was a member of the Albertville Planning Commission and City Council before taking the city’s top job 15 years ago. He returned to the commission from 2011 to 2014, according to his obituary.

Klecker served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he worked as a car inspector and served on a derailment crew. He was honorably discharged in 1954 as a staff sergeant.

He enjoyed traveling, racing, riding motorcycles and woodworking, and many other hobbies.
“His greatest enjoyment was watching his children’s and grandchildren’s events,” his obituary reads. “He greatly loved his family.”
Klecker’s family is encouraging donations be made in his honor to Boys Town in lieu of flowers.
