Former Knights Football Coach, STMA Grad Dies At 28

Jason Volby was married in December 2020 and is survived by his wife, parents, brother and many other relatives, his obituary says.

ST. MICHAEL, MN — Jason Volby, a former St. Michael-Albertville High School football coach and graduate, died unexpectedly last week at his home in Cambridge. He was 28.

Volby was well-liked by players and fellow coaches during his time with the Knights football team, North Wright County Today reported.

He was born in St. Louis Park and grew up in Brooklyn Park and St. Michael, his obituary reads. Volby played on the St. Michael-Albertville Knights’ varsity football team in 2009 and 2010 before his graduation in 2011, according to MaxPreps.

Volby was married in December 2020 and is survived by his wife, Amanda, his parents, brother, and many other relatives, according to his obituary.
