Kickball Tournament Raises Thousands for Rowe Family of Albertville
Rowe family members and friends used the special day to compete, have fun, and remember a little boy lost too soon.

If one questioned the commitment to helping families within the St. Michael-Albertville community at any time this year, he or she should have braved the wind and cold Saturday and visited Albertville's Central Park diamonds.Â
Despite wind chills near zero (or below by the time the event wrapped up), teams battled it out on the kickball field for Albertville's Rowe family. Tracy and Rob lost their son, Derek, just 9, last month due to an asthma attack.Â
Fittingly, Team Sunshine, which featured members of the Rowe family as well as Tracy's friends from the Albertville summer kickball league, took home the team trophy.Â
"It was an amazing day," said Melissa Harrison, whose husband, Mat, also helped organize the tournament. "You have to be proud of some of these teams that had all these kids. They were so cold, but they kept playing and did great."Â
