PHOTO GALLERY: National Night Out Brings Neighborhoods Together in St. Michael, Albertville
Everyone from Coborns to BeBee Lake got in on the act, with many groups raising money for the Hanover Food Shelf or other charitable causes.
For so many St. Michael and Albertville residents, Tuesday night's arrival with like a breath of fresh air.
With National Night Out in both communities in full swing, the temperature dropped, north wind came through and the humidity dropped, much to the delight of the "night-outers."
"The weather has been unbelievable," said one party-goer. "It's nice to have a quiet, dry evening for a change."

The storms ripped through Albertville and St. Michael Tuesday morning, instead, and left a picture-perfect evening for some neighborhood fun and fundraising.
On 53rd Circle in Albertville, Kelly Duncan, Larry Sorenson and neighbors had an inflatable jump house for the kids. For adults, there was hot food off the grill and cold beverages.

Over at Coborns in Albertville, an ice cream counter served up $1 sundaes, with all proceeds going to the Hanover Food Shelf.
The St. Michael-Albertville Women of Today also had a table full of books, handing out plenty of short stories to kids.
A full meal deal was also avaiable, with proceeds to the food shelf and Women of Today.
Over in St. Michael, the National Night Out party at 31st Avenue Northeast and Kagen in St. Michael stayed steady with a stream of neighbors visiting, eating and of course, enjoying the fire truck and deputy visit.
Vicki Schroeder hosts this annual party each year.
“My corner is the bus stop for many of the kids around here so I like to meet them so they can see who lives at their bus stop,” Schroeder shared. “I also always enjoy getting out and seeing and visiting with the neighbors.”
BeBee Lake also had its annual celebration, where neighbors presented the firefighters with a few boxes of food for the Hanover Food Shelf. Citywide, firefighters collected more than 700 pounds of food for the needy.
"It was much needed," said City Clerk Diana Berning. "That's what they passed along to us."
