PHOTOS: Water Closes Kahl Avenue in Albertville Thursday Night
Albertville Public Works worked through the evening to mitigate flooding near the intersection of 52nd Street and Kahl Avenue on the city's western border.
Water, water, everywhere.
After nearly five inches of rain fell on the St. Michael-Albertville area from Wednesday through Thursday evening, it's no surprise that ditches, culverts and even backyard creeks are running over.
Such was the case near the intersection of 52nd Street Northeast and Kahl Avenue on Albertville's western border.

The intersection, which is just east of Fieldstone Elementary, was inundated after a backyard waterway in the development was too filled with water to make it under the Kahl Avenue culvert.
Water spilled out on to Kahl, and even 52nd Street, making it tough for traffic around the evening rush, as people came home from work. Even buses had to take it slow earlier in the afternoon on 52nd.

asked for, and received, volunteers to help fill sandbags in the neighborhood Thursday night. The work was done quickly, and most of the water problems looked secure by late Thursday.
In St. Michael, Rambling (or Regal) Creek was out of its banks in several areas, but wasn't endangering many backyards.
St. Michael Patch will be keeping an eye on local water levels, including Beebe Lake, as the week progresses.
