Public Hearing on Liquor Sales Fine Set for St. Michael Council Meeting
JR's Pub and Grill will be appealing a failed alcohol compliance check Tuesday at the city's biweekly meeting.
One of the more established restaurants in St. Michael will be looking to discuss a relatviely "rookie" mistake when it appears in front of the St. Michael City Council at Tuesday's regular meeting.
will be appealing a $250 fine after failing an alcohol compliance check performed last month, in cooperation with the Wright County Sheriff's Department.
Two other local establishments also failed the checks. Super America and the (St. Michael American Legion) chose to waive their right to a public hearing and discussion with the council and will pay the $250.

The hearing should start shortly after 7 p.m. at the St. Michael City Center building's council chambers.
Other items on the July 26 agenda include a formal complaint filed by residents about a BMX/motorcross track located off of Wright County Road 34, east of BeBee Lake.

Complaints have come from neighbors as work has been done on the privately-held track.
The council touched on the issue during a tour of possible development last month. They're aware local homeowners aren't impressed with the dirt, weeds, motorbikes and heavy equipment used on the track.
The city already owns and contracts operation for a BMX track located at the Rec Fields complex, but it does not allow motorized bikes.
Tina and Ron Tanchin, who live on Jackson Avenue and back up to the track, filed the formal complaint after making an anonymous complaint to city staff.
