Readers' Choice: Garden Centers Galore for St. Michael Green Thumbs

Mother's Day is right around the corner. And while for some that points to a rod and reel, for many others it's the target date for getting that green thumb going.

Most of the "experts" will tell you that for a bumper crop, May 13 will be this year's target date.

Fortunately, you can talk to a lot of those experts right here in St. Michael and Albertville. The area boasts a couple of great garden centers that can help you if you're just a beginner, and consult with those who are savvy veterans.

- With everything to plant, and everything to get you going, this St. Michael nursery is well-respected by those from around the Wright County area.

- A mainstay, Hardware Hank has the tools to get the job done, as well as seeds, sets and dirt. It's a good place to get started.

- With piles of mulch and soil as high as your head, DJ's also has a variety of great tools for purchase and for rent (including roto-tillers). Plus, there's a variety of plants, seeds and sets in the greenhouse outside.
