Senior Center Update-Week of March 26

The will be sponsoring a Senior Expo on Monday, April 30 from 9 AM to 3 PM.  There is no charge and there will be booths and speakers, prizes, music and lunch available.  Mark your calendars and plan to attend this fun event.

AARP Tax Aide will be available at the Crow River Senior Center through April 13^th on Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are now being taken at the Center. There is no cost for the service.

Buffalo Hospital will offer a coffee chat on Monday, March 26 at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.. Enjoy a cup of coffee and a lively chat on joint replacement and health. There is no cost to participate.

Menus for the months of May and June will be planned on at 10:30 a.m. Monday March 26. Come and add your ideas.

The senior dinner out event will be on Monday, March 26 at 5 p.m. at the River Inn in Hanover. The cost is on your own. Call the Center to register.

March birthdays will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 27 at noon.  Call the Center to make a reservation. Those with birthdays will receive a complimentary meal.

Cell phone camera basics will be the topic at a presentation on Tuesday, March 27 at 1 p.m. There is no charge, but please call the Center to register by Friday, March 23. Wayne Berthiaume and staff from in St; Michael will go over basics of taking pictures with a cell phone.  Be sure to bring your cell phone along for hands on training!

Several day trips are being offered through the Center. These trips will include pickup at the Center building.  Day trips this season will be a trip to see the Golden Strings at the Lafayette Club and to the MN Orchestra Hall for Romeo & Juliet, LeSueur Cambria Plant and Czech Country – Jordan and New Prague in the Summer. 

There are also extended day trips offered.  Brochures for those trips are available at the Center. Some of those trips offered include: New Orleans, Southern Charm, the Pella Tulip Festival, Yellowstone & Tetons, Washington DC and Medora & the Black Hills.

The Senior Center newsletter lists a full schedule of events and trips and the monthly menu. A copy can be picked up at the Center or have your name added to the mail or e-mail list. Call the Center with your name and address or e-mail address. There is no charge for the newsletter. 

Noon meals are offered at the Center on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The cost is $3.50 for the meal. The price of meals will change to $3.75 effective on April 1. Reservations will be needed one day ahead. Call the Center for more information and the menu for the day. 

The Center is also the source for Meals on Wheels in the Albertville, Hanover and St. Michael area.
