U12 team wins Eden Prairie Cup, District

The U12 girls C1 team WON their District Playoffs.  Their journey began on Saturday when they took on their old adversaries, Centenniel.

According to STMA United Coaching Director Roger Derham:

"After a hard fought game in intense heat they went on to win 4-2.  Their playoff final was played on Sunday at 9am against a very strong White Bear Lake team.  They battled to a 3-1 victory to claim the District.

This was a week after taking the Eden Prairie Cup.

In preparation for next season Kristin Gamrath, U12 C1 Head Coach made the smart decision to enter her team into the Eden Prairie Cup at the U13 level.

Why smart?  Next year her team moves up to U13 where they will play 11-on-11 and on a full size field. This tournament gave the girls a taste of what next season will look like as it is a much different game from the 8-on-8 format they are currently playing.

As the 11-man team obviously requires more players, Kristin reached out to Ceri Kucera's U12 C2 to help with additional players.  All the players equipped themselves well and performed excellently."a
