St. Michael-Albertville Swimmers Second at Sections, Send Several to State

After coming up with silver in the Section 8AA meet last weekend in St. Cloud, the Knights advance seven swimmers to state, the most in school history.

The St. Michael-Albertville swim team shattered school records, racked up 434 points and sent seven swimmers along to the State AA Swim Meet beginning tomorrow after they took second place at the Section 8-2A meet in St. Cloud last weekend.Β 

Noah Dalluge led the Knights, who posted their second straight undefeated regular season, with a school record in the 100 free and an anchor leg in the 400 freestyle that brought down the house, along with a 27-year-old pool record at St. Cloud Tech.Β

β€’ The 200 medley relay of Max Rooney, Eli Guillou, Sam Konsor and Noah Dalluge qualified for state winning the event while setting a Tech High School pool record and STMA school record.
β€’ Grant Moser set a school record placing 3rd in the 200 freestyle. Β Max Lezer finished 6th
β€’ Brandon Richardson set a school record placing 3rd in the 200 individual medley with a state qualifying time. Β Eli Guillou finished 8th.
β€’ The Knights finished 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle led by Noah Dalluge in 1st, Mitch Cusick in 2nd and Sam Konsor in 3rd. Β Dalluge and Cusick qualified for state in the event.
β€’ Grant Moser finished 1st in the 100 fly in school record time and Brandon Richardson finished 4th, both qualifying for state.
β€’ Noah Dalluge qualified for state with a 1st place in the 100 freestyle in school record time. Β Sam Konsor finished 3rd, Mitch Cusick 8th.
β€’ Max Lezer set a new school record and finished 5th in the 500 freestyle.
β€’ The 200 freestyle relay of Brandon Richardson, Mitch Cusick, Alec Bolme, and Grant Moser placed 2nd, qualified for state and setting a school record.
Max Rooney set a school record in the 100 backstroke and finished 7th.
Eli Guillou placed 4th and qualified for state in the 100 breaststroke, also setting a school record.

The awards for the Knights did't stop with the end of competition. Dalluge was named the Section 8AA Swimmer of the Year. Coach Garett Abraham was named Section 8AA Assistant Caoch of the Year, and Coach Tom Guillou was named Section 8AA Head Coach of the Year.
