St. Michael Catholic School, which houses students from Pre-K to eighth grade, has also announced it will abide by the Gov. Mark Dayton's order to close (public) schools Monday, Jan. 6, due to the extreme cold.

The school informed parents around noon via a Facebook message:

"StMCS Parents: Governor Dayton has cancelled classes at all MN Public Schools on Monday, January 6, 2014 due to the projected below zero temps. With the closing of ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE ISD 885, we will also be closed.

Kids Club and Preschool will also be closed.

Please remember to have your children dressed for the weather upon their return to school on Tuesday."

The City of St. Michael announced Friday afternoon the Crow River Senior Center, which is housed in the city's municipal building at Town Center, is also going to be closed Monday for the safety of those who use the center.
