The cancellation means winter break will run one day longer for staff and students.
ST. MICHAEL, MN — The St. Michael-Albertville School District called off classes on Dec. 23 as part of its “Staff Appreciation Week,” extending winter break by a day.
“Our staff continuously put students first and work exceedingly hard to meet the academic, social/emotional and mental health needs of our students,” Superintendent Ann-Marie Foucault said in a message to parents. “”They work tirelessly to maintain our tradition of excellence by continuously going above and beyond expectations.”
Officials are asking students, parents and other community members to send “notes of gratitude” and decorate sidewalks at each of the district’s buildings Dec. 18-19 with chalk messages to thank teachers and support staff members.
