STMA Senior Wins Cross-Country State Championship
Ali Weimer is the first runner from St. Michael-Albertville High School to win an individual cross-country state title.
ST. MICHAEL, MN — St. Michael-Albertville senior Ali Weimer held off a pair of freshmen from Hopkins High to win the Class 3A girls cross-country championship last weekend at St. Olaf College.
Weimer finished the 5,000-meter course with a time of 17 minutes and 42 seconds to earn the Knights’ first-ever individual cross-country state title, Press & News reports.

She won the Lake Conference individual cross-country title this season after finishing with a personal-best time of 17:17, an STMA school record, the report states.

Weimer also won the 1,600-meter race at the Class 2A track-and-field state meet in the spring.

St. Michael Residents To Pay More For Heat This Winter: Xcel
The St. Michael-Albertville girls cross-country team finished in fourth place overall, with Edina winning the Class 3A state team championship. Wayzata took second place and Prior Lake finished third.
St. Michael-Albertville's Caden Nordberg finished ninth in the boys cross-country state championship.
