ST. MICHAEL, MN — St. Michael looks set for some beautiful weather — and some thunderstorms — over the Memorial Day Weekend, according to the National Weather Service’s forecast.

Temperatures are expected to be in the 80s across the three-day weekend. But it’s not all good news for those planning Memorial Day cookouts and events, with rain and thunderstorms dotting the holiday weekend forecast for St. Michael.

The city is “likely” to see rain and thunderstorms Saturday morning, while there is a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms Sunday and a 60 percent chance Sunday night into Monday, the NWS said.

Storms could resume in St. Michael on Monday afternoon, with temperatures are forecast to reach up to 88 degrees. Hail and damaging winds are also possible Monday night, the NWS said.

Showers and thunderstorms likely before 10 a.m., then a slight chance of showers between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. South southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.

Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Southeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
