Hillside Hope Thru Hooves brings the art of equine therapy to a new, ground level.Â
Normally, when one thinks of a horse as a therapy "tool," the thought goes to riding.Â
At Hillside, there is a ground-level interaction with the beautiful, yet sometimes intimidating animal. After all, horses are bigger than humans, have more power, and well, more legs.

"It's a comfort level that people have to find on their own, and that's part of the process," Terry Bateman said.Â
Terry serves as the director of the organization, which was founded by Todd and Angel Batemen, a pair of equine specialists.Â

The five horses often used range in size from a thoroughbred to a pony, and have different personalities.Â
As do the people who have used Hillside Hope Thru Hooves over the last couple of years.Â
