Wright County Attorney Brian Lutes To Seek Full Term
Lutes was appointed to succeed longtime Wright County Attorney Tom Kelly, who retired at the end of 2020.
WRIGHT COUNTY, MN — Brian Lutes announced earlier this month he will seek a full term as Wright County attorney after being appointed as the county’s top prosecutor in 2021.
“I’m proud to live and work in Wright County where law enforcement is appreciated and law and order matters,” Lutes said in a news release.
Lutes said he hopes to continue working “side by side” with police throughout the region to “keep Wright County safe by aggressively prosecuting criminals.”

The incumbent Wright County attorney also said he will continue to promote safe schools and communities through outreach programs.

“I will remain responsive to the citizens of Wright County, treating everyone with fairness and dignity,” Lutes said in the release. “I look forward to continuing to serve as Wright County Attorney.”

Lutes was appointed to succeed longtime Wright County Attorney Tom Kelly, who retired in January 2021. Lutes joined the Wright County Attorney’s Office in 2000 and was promoted to chief prosecutor for the criminal division a decade later.
